Firefighter’s Day draws near

As part of the Doylestown Borough Bicentennial of the County Seat moving here in 1812, Doylestown Fire Company will be recreating the Fireman’s Day ceremonies of 1912’s Centennial celebration. On June 2, at 2:15 PM, area fire companies will converge on Station 19 on Shewell Ave. and recreate the photo taken in 1912. Then the firefighters and apparatus will parade around the Courthouse and down Court St. to the Central Bucks Family YMCA, where the family picnic will be held. There will be an antique fire truck display there and a ladder flag arch. Fireworks close the day and the week-long celebration.

Companies wishing to participate in the phone and the parade can contact Larry Browne at fpo19@doylestownfireco.org.

More information on the Doylestown Bicentennial can be found at http://doylestownbicentennial.com/

The banner for the Bicentennial is secured by Sam Cramer, Jr. from Ladder 79.

Remember those who served and are serving, especially those who died in service to all of us

Ladder 79 flies the flag proudly during the Doylestown 5K.
