The volunteer members of Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 welcomed in the new year with a change of leadership. At the January Business meeting, Doylestown Borough Mayor Libby White presided over the swearing in of the new officers of the organization. Bill Cope was sworn in as president and Dennis Loux, Jr. took the oath to become chief of the fire company. Loux, a life member and Doylestown Township resident, starts his second year as chief of the fire company. Cope becomes the 17th president in the history of the company, and joins his father Frank, who held the post from 1960-66, and brother John, president from 1993-97. Cope succeeds Drew McPherson.
Also taking the oath of office were the line and executive officers for 2006- Deputy Chief Jay Fetterolf, Battalion Chiefs Paul Kreuter and Ed Truman, Captain Bud Baughman, Lieutenants Jeff Kennedy and Todd Kulp., 1st vice president Larry Browne, 2nd VP Mark Hamilton, Treasurer Bill Price, Assistant Treasurer Jay Stough, Recording Secretary Roseanne Baughman, Assistant Recording Secretary Ollie Groman, Sr., Financial Secretary Jack Connard, Communications Officer Ryan Pankoe, Assistant Communications Officer Drew McPherson, and Trustees Dan Kline, Clayton Long, Chris Morris, Matt Grogan, B. J. Loughnane and Dave Hedrick.
