All Volunteer Stations, 19 & 79, Bucks County, PA

In Doylestown, we have what is called a "First Friday Celebration" where stores and shops in Doylestown Borough stay open late and provide live entertainment on the first Friday of every month, weather permitting. In a short amount of time, the Friday night festivities have really caught on and bring a great number of people into town for the entertainment. Since Station 19 is located on Shewell Ave and not too far from all the happenings, the fire company has been getting more involved. To celebrate the First Friday of July 2007, we all gathered at the station for a spaghetti and meatball dinner and then took our trucks to the corner of Shewell and Main streets where we had a chance to talk to people and tell them a little bit about the fire company. We also had a chance to be the official transportation for the Philly Phanatic mascot. Thank you to Jay Fetterolf for organizing the dinner. Photos by Sara Grogan and Larry Browne.
