On May
4, 2007 at the monthly First Friday Doylestown
event, the Fire Company was asked to provide an
aerial platform for a large flag for a candlelight
ceremony in memory of fallen Doylestown US Marine
1st Lt. Travis Manion and Army Lt. Colby Umbrell.
Both lost their lives in action in Iraq in separate
events last week. Hundreds of people attended the
ceremony, which included the awarding, posthumously,
of the Purple Heart to Lt. Manion's family. Thanks
to the Warrington Fire Co. for use of their large
American flag, which flew from the main of Ladder 79
throughout the ceremony. Photos by Larry Browne and
