Pennridge bus fire May 28, 2003
Station 19 was dispatched to Pine Run Road between Route 313 and Weldon Drive for the report of a bus fire with a burn victim. Photo 79, Larry Browne, was on scene before the dispatch and reported to Chief Wood that the engine compartment was involved, which made more sense to the chief once the job was dispatched. The fire quickly moved to involve the rest of the vehicle. On arrival of Engine 19, Chief Wood ordered a blitz attack with the deck gun to knock the fire down, which it did quickly. Barbarajean Williams and Battalion 79 Ed Truman then extinguished the rest of the fire with a hand line and the help of FM 228 Dave Cell. The driver, the only occupant of the bus, had a minor burn to his leg and was treated on the scene by Medic 125.
