Tractor-trailer extrication, October 25, 2003
Station 19 was dispatched to Rt. 611 bypass northbound at State Street (Rt. 202) for a report of and overturned tractor-trailer with entrapment at 4:36 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2003. Chief 19, Mike Wood, arrived on location and found the cab of the vehicle upside down and reported the victim heavily entrapped. he asked for Rescue 29, Warrington, to be dispatched and ordered Rescue 19 to go in service on arrival with the hydraulic extrication tools. Engine 79 arrive and took care of hazards, as well as assisting Rescue 19 with the extrication. After a 30 minute extrication, with the help of Rescue 29, the driver was extricated and walked away from the mangled mass on his own. To the great relief of all on the scene, the tanker was filled with water.
Rescue 19 goes in service with Engine 79.
