At 0339 on the morning of December 6th, 2007, Doylestown Firefighters were dispatched to assist the Plumsteadville Fire Company with a working structure fire at the Plumsteadville Inn located at Route 611 and Stump Road. Initial reports indicated a smoke condition inside a 2 1/2 story building. Engine 19 was dispatched initially with the crew from Stations 24 and 20. First arriving units placed a hand line in service and attacked the bulk of the fire in the staircase. Engine 79 was also dispatched but took a standby position across the street.
