At 4:41pm on June 30, 2007,
The Doylestown Fire Company was dispatched to assist
with an air-medical evacuation for a motor vehicle
accident at State Street and Burpee Road in
Doylestown Township. Two motorcycles collided with a
car in the intersection. Upon further investigation,
it was found that one occupant of the car was
entrapped due to the impact. The assignment was
quickly upgraded to include Rescue 19 to extricate
the occupant of the car. Battalion 79 Paul Kreuter
also called for an additional ALS unit. Rescue 19
was first on scene and went to work to extricate the
victim. Engine 79 arrived to control the hazards,
and assist with the extrication. Engine 19 was
assigned to the landing zone at the Doylestown
Hospital to assist with the 2 inbound helicopters.
