At 10:30am on January 29, 2008, the Doylestown Fire Company was dispatched to the 300 block of Doyle Street in Doylestown Borough for a reported dwelling fire with possible entrapment. First arriving crews reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a 1 and 1/2 story dwelling with confirmed entrapment. Crews immediately went to work to locate the victim inside, but severe heat and wall collapse limited their progress. Engine 19 stretched two hand lines interior and Ladder 79 went to work with ventilation and search and rescue. 1 victim was located inside and two firefighters received burns while trying to rescue the victim. Assisting companies included Midway, Warrington, Warwick, and Plumsteadville. Photos by Mike Wood and courtesy of The Intelligencer
