An early morning fire was reported at  635 North Main Street in Doylestown Township on Thursday, May 14. Battalion Chief 79 Paul Kreuter was first on scene and reported smoke and fire visible from the building. Engine 19 arrived and stretched a hand line interior to the 2nd floor while Ladder 79 opened up the building. Additional apparatus was on scene for manpower from Midway, Warrington, and Plumsteadville Fire Companies. The fire was quickly knocked limiting damage to the first floor ski shop, but water and smoke caused some damage to the 2nd floor unoccupied space where the fire originated. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes. Ladder 79 stayed on scene to provide lighting for the county fire marshal to investigate. Photos by Larry Browne.
