The fire company was
dispatched to a dumpster fire at Delaware Valley
College on Monday, March 23, at 2:39 PM. On arrival,
Chief Denny Loux, Jr., found an industrial dumpster
attached to a compacting unit with smoke showing. A
backhoe was brought in to separate the dumpster from
the compactor, after which the firefighters pulled
the smoldering trash out and extinguished the
burning garbage. The surrounding area was kept wet,
as the area was under a Red Flag warning for brush
fires, due to a lack of rain, high winds and low
humidity. Photos by Larry Browne
