On Saturday, December 19, Doylestown firefighters were dispatched to a barn fire on route 313. Initial reports from Bucks County radio room indicated a 40x100 foot barn with heavy smoke and fire showing. Chief 19 Denny Loux Jr. arrived on scene and confirmed that the building was nearly fully involved. Engine 19 came all the way down the long driveway and began stretching hose lines. Engine 79 reverse laid out to the street and set up for tanker water supply. Due to the building being fully involved on arrival, crews took a defensive stance and protected a nearby exposure dwelling that housed multiple families as well as put out some brush fires from the wind blown embers. Additional companies providing mutual aid were Midway, Chalfont, Plumstead, Warrington, Dublin, Warwick, Perkasie, Ottsville, and Montgomery Township, Montgomery County. MORE
