Horse Rescued from Creek

On Monday, April 15, 2013, The Doylestown Fire Company was dispatched on Marine Box 19-3, for a reported horse and rider stuck in a creek. Deputy 19, Mike Wood, arrived and established Doylestown Command. Rescue 19, Ladder 79, along with Dive Rescue 41 and Rescue 41, were dispatched to the scene. On arrival, crews found a horse stuck in the creek behind the houses on Pine Valley Drive in Doylestown, Township. The horse and rider had slipped off the narrow pathway next to the creek and the horse quickly became stuck in the muddy bottom. Crews from Doylestown and Point Pleasant Fire Companies, along with Police, Ranger, and PA Large Animal Rescue Task Force and Central Bucks Ambulance worked for over an hour to get the horse free from the muck. In the end, the horse and rider were reunited without any injuries. Thank you to our mutual aid support from Point Pleasant Fire Company for assisting with the rescue operations.
