Doylestown Fire Company’s new slate of officers for 2015 was sworn into office on Wednesday night, Jan 7, 2015. Doylestown Borough mayor Ron Strouse officiated the installation ceremony, which saw a passing of the gavel from Bill Cope, who served as president of the fire company for 8 years, to newly elected President Jay Fetterolf. Fetterolf, a life member of the company who has also served as 1st vice president for the past 2 years, is the 18th president in the fire company’s history. Like his predecessor Cope, Fetterolf is a 3rd generation firefighter, as his father and grandfather were both members of Midway Fire Company, where they also served as president of the Lahaska-based fire company. Cope will now serve as the 1st vice president.
The all volunteer members for the fire company responded to 676 calls for service in the year 2014.
