Bringing the big man and the holiday season to Doylestown

Last night Doylestown started the holiday season in grand fashion, as it has for 105 years! And the members of the fire company were there to bring Santa to town so he could light the tree. In addition to the Fox being his sleigh for the night, Captain 19 Lori Westover was in charge of Santa’s safety as he rose above the crowd in his magic bucket. The crew then provided security for the big guy with Central Bucks Regional PD for the walk to his house.

It is with sadness that the fire company announce the passing of life member Don Smith on Nov. 24, 2019. Don, who was a member of the fire company for over 65 years, was honored for his service at this year’s Old Timers Night. While working for Young and Bowman for many years, Don responded often to daytime calls and was a regular helper at Turkey Dinners and Pancake Breakfasts along with his wife Nancy.
